Paige and Kevin became the proud parents of a new baby girl on April 21, 2008. Priscilla Paige Caldwell weighed in at 8lbs. 5oz. and was 20in. long. She is a blessing to the whole family including her two brothers, Jaxson and Mason. Congratulations to all!

I spoke with Devin Henry (class of 86) today. We discussed how much fun we had at our respective reunions & wished there were a way for us all (older and younger classes) to get together. We also agreed that it was ridiculous that we didn’t meet more often. THEN…had a brainstorm session and realized we were ignoring the most obvious time for us to meet...HOMECOMING! I read the messaages on the board here and for the life of me can't get the 1987 annual out of my head! It was just like reading it at the end of a school day! I was informed by Wendy Borel, emailing my step-sister, Cheri' (Stanton) Ardoin, whom in turn, forwarded the mail to her mother, my step-mother, and I still haven't seen the post! I am still in LAKE CHUCK!!! Not much science to it!!! I have two children, one of which made 18 this past Saturday...and a graduate of Victory Baptist Academy. My other child will be starting this school year @ S.J. Welsh. As you can see, I don't even live far from the school we all attended and graduated from in 1987! My father's house is still in the same place...20 years later!!! I have 2 email addys. One in the afore noted heading, and the other to follow...dpb1268@yahoo.com. NEVER MARRIED! Shouldn't have been all that difficult to find.

I just want to thank the committee members again for all of their work. The reunion was well thought out and great. I had such a good time seeing old friends that I could not even begin to describe. I understand there is a significant shortfall with respect to costs. I'm sending an additional check today to help. If the shortage still exists in a week or so may I suggest posting more specific information. The bottom line is, I assume most classmates are like me and would be glad to share the costs instead of having the financial burden fall solely upon the committee members that already worked so hard for us. Again, my thinking is let the need be known and we will all be glad to do our part.

ATTEN ALL GOLFERS!!!!
Well, so far we have 15 confirmed golfers (as long as DIETZ still wants to play) and still waiting on DAVID BOLDT and KEVIN LUCAS to decide or be convinced to play.
I have had several responses as to HOW we will split up into groups. To this I offer 2 suggestions:
Numero UNO is I can divide up the names into groups accordingly, in hopes that NO ONE has any OBJECTIONS.
Numero 2 is that we can somehow figure a way to divide into EQUAL TEAMS according to HANDICAPS and play a REUNION SCRAMBLE.
It is my understanding that WILL THOMAS and CHRIS BROWN are going to play the role of CART GIRLS and carry BEER and other beverages to us who are working hard at golf. (They are buying...HA HA HA!)
Either way, I WOULD SUGGEST that we get to the GET TO THE COURSE by at least 8:15 or 8:30.
Bart and I will talk this week and fiqure out BOTH choices and I will forward to all players.
I hope you all understand that I am only trying to help with any confusion and my only intention is to TEE IT UP with OLD FRIENDS and have as MUCH FUN as possible.
I am really looking forward to this reunion and can't wait to see everyone.
If anyone has any other IDEAS or suggestions, please contact ME or BART or DIETZ or anyone else you know playing golf on FRIDAY.

Now since I have insomnia and nothing constructive to do, I'd like to share a real life twighlight zone story with a Lake Charles connection.--- About 3 years ago I am with a group of young soccer players and we pull into a hotel in Seattle. This is a randomly selected hotel. We are there for the weekend for a soccer tournament. I am standing in line and the gentleman behind me comments on my soccer shirt. He introduces himself as Mr. Long. We strike up a casual conversation and come to find out he lives in the midwest and is in Seattle for a conference. Our conversation leads to the fact that we both at one time lived in Lake Charles! (I wouldn't be telling the story if the "coincidence" stopped there). His wife asked me what high school I went to. I proudly told her "Barbe". She said they had lived in that district and had a daughter about my age. She then asked what elementary school I went to which was the age of their daughter when they moved from Lake Charles. I told her "Prien Lake". She said "so did our daughter!" I then thought and blurted out "Is your daughter Andrea Long? and was she in Mrs. Rice's third grade class?" The answer of course is YES. Do we have an actuary in the house? What are the statistical odds? WE really do live in a small world. By the way for any of my Prien Lake classmates that remember Andrea, she is a stay at home mom that homeschools four kids and her parents are Christian organization workers.

Thanks to everyone who has made this website so much fun. I don't remember what my hobby used to be before I checked this site so regularly. The site has been educational as well. My son now has a learning exposure to diversified lifestyles which is I guess... delicious. I have now had an opportunity to explain the planned conjugal visit between Chitty and Joe, and we have had a geography lesson looking for Jacko and Shaine Gaspard. My son has also refined his sense of humor with more wittisisms than can be referenced. All of this is what makes this website so fascinating and entertaining.

So Here's the Deal, I get a call from a classmate who now lives in Kansas who I haven't heard from in 20 years... I get an e-mail from a classmate saying "hi" and telling me she knows someone who lives in my old house... I get an e-mail from an old classmate reminding me about a double date prom night more than 20 years ago...
Mind you, these are not my closest friends from school. These are not the small group of friends I have stayed in touch with since high school. These are classmates that share a common background with me - a common town, a common school, maybe a common class. Yet each of these contacts refocus me on simpler, fun times and allows me to reminisce nostalgically. As my positive thoughts of my childhood and teenage interactions with each of the people mentioned above flood my mind, I realize how important and meaningful every friendship is.
The Bottom Line is the reunion is the engine stirring all these contacts, trips down memory lane, and happy thoughts. In short, I suspect this reunion and this websight is generating similar experiences for everyone participating. I just want to thank all of the planning committee participants for giving us this gift.

Our classmate Stacey Edmonds Cole passed away this past Saturday (May 26th) It is my understanding that she suffered a stroke and had been ill for sometime. Visitatation will be today (May 28th) at Johnson's Funeral home from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be held tomorrow at the same location at 2:00 p.m. Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey guys it is hard to believe it has been 20 years..I left after our junior year and moved to TN...I graduated there and hated it, Barbe was my school and I miss you guys so much....I really want to make it to the reunion, just got a little info on it and hope to make it
